2018 MET Gala Wrap-up

Last night(May 7th) the 2018 MET Gala, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination on Sunday(May 7th) took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I have to say, this is the first time that the majority of the celebs dressed for the gala's theme, the best gala in a long time. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up.

Amber Heard who also hosted a Syrian gala this weekend, wore a bold regal red gown of silk georgette, with hundreds and hundreds of covered buttons and a cutout & bustle detail back. Adding a head piece to her look to incorporate the theme, she finished up with a red lip color.

Cardi B worked her baby bump in a custom cream wool long-sleeve dress encrusted with pearls, crystals and gems inspired by tapestries and embroideries from ecclesiastic vestments from MOSCHINO BY JEREMY SCOTT. She paired the intricate look with a cream, silk Duchesse belted overskirt and a custom jeweled headpiece.

Bella Hadid took on the theme in a sinister, dark glamour way, wearing a custom CHROME HEARTS X GARETH PUGH glossy latex corset gown which as paired with a sculptural cape. She also accessorized with fingerless gloves and a high up-do which topped off her look.

Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the only ones who is always dedicated to the theme. She wore a DOLCE & GABBANA Alta Moda corset gown with cathedral train embroidered with gold baroque embellishments and sacred hearts, along with a Neapolitan nativity altar and sacred hearts in gold filigree.

Lena Waithe rightfully so showed off her pride wearing a custom CAROLINA HERRERA silk faille rainbow stripe cape with a black suit underneath. I just love this.

Dakota Fanning looked simply angelic in a white MIU MIU one-shoulder, beaded pleated, layered silk-chiffon gown. She highlighted her eyes with silver glitter which topped off her look along with a high ponytail.

Scarlett Johansson is a fashion risk taker but she seemed to double down on this occasion. She wore a burgundy & pink MARCHESA off-the-shoulder layered organza gown which was adorned with petals. This would have been the perfect time for Scarlett to do something risky. She looks pretty but this is forgettable.

Laura Dern wore a PROENZA SCHOULER chalk satin cady and black velvet dress which was accessorized with a minaudière, and black suede heels. She also styled her dress with a vintage Alexander Calder necklace by Stephen Russell, and rings by Fred Leighton.

Karlie Kloss wore a BRANDON MAXWELL black floor length gown with a slight off-the-shoulder detail and cutout waist. I like how sleek & sultry this gown looks on Karlie.

Cynthia Erivo wore a VALENTINO rich purple velvet gown with a cutout bodice. Her dressed up her look with EVA FEHREN, MARIA TASH & YEPREM jewelry. Cynthia is always doing something unexpected, this look suits her.

Claire Danes who is currently pregnant, wore MARNI color-block gown with a key hole detail and accessories. The creases are unfortunate and even though this is not on tune with the theme, it's not a bad look.

Sasha Lane worked somewhat of a bridal look which featured a TORY BURCH sheer white ruffle lace cape with the matching dress underneath. Love her beauty look which topped off her look along with KIMBERLY MCDONALD jewelry and TAMARA MELLON sandals.

Emilia Clarke wore a DOLCE & GABBANA wore a Alta Moda corset gown with a cathedral train made of black lace and embellishments in gold and needle point fresco. She topped off her look with a gold embellished crown and a vampy lip.

Anya Taylor Joy wore ALTA MODA gold & silver embellished gown with padded shoulders. On the beauty end, she went with a red lip and gold & white flowers in her hair which topped off her look.
