2019 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Last night(February 19th) the 2019 Costume Designers Guild Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

Sonequa Martin-Green wore a SIMONE ROCHA SPRING 2019 orange foil strapless pleated circular dress, which was layered with a sheer organza cape. On the runway, the dress was layered with a fishnet tutu underneath which provided a full shape. However I am thankful that Sonequa didn't wear it because the dress seems better without it.

Marisa Tomei wore a DUNDAS SPRING 2019 COUTURE green printed metallic gown, featuring cutout side, a deep v-neckline, a brooch on the waist and leg-o-mutton sleeves. If this feels familiar, that's because Naomie Harris wore a very similar version from the Pre-Fall 2019 collection in December 2018. The dress is a tad too long but she looks great in it.

Danai Gurira was owning her look, as she posed in a LOEWE SPRING 2019 pink lace trim, satin maxi dress. She looks lovely in this dress but I am so drawn in by her beauty look.

Christina Hendricks wore chose a TADASHI SHOJI SPRING 2018 blue & silver embellished, layered gown. Her gown was altered from the runway version. Her gown didn't feature the overlay cape but instead short sleeves and pleats was added to the skirt. Christina could have pulled off the runway version, but her piece works as well. However the top appears to be a tad too tight.

Billie Lourd wore a MARKARIAN RESORT 2019 silver lame, golden floral, floor gazing dress, featuring a front slit, playful feather straps and a cutout back. Center part waves, adorned with clips and silver metallic ankle strap sandals rounded out her look.

Sarah Paulson is paying tribute to designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away on yesterday. Her red & black lurex, chenille cord skirt & jacket set, is from a CHANEL 1980's collection, is by Karl who took over the house in 1983. Her vintage ensemble is from SHRIMPTON COUTURE and she looks great in it.
