71st Primetime Emmy Awards Wrap-up

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards took place this evening(September 22nd) in LA at the Microsoft Theater. To see all of the celeb looks, click HERE and continue below for the wrap-up. 

Viola Davis who was a nominee, was all smiles posing in her custom ALBERTA FERRETTI LIMITED EDITION COUTURE custom one-shoulder black velvet and white satin duchesse panels gown , which she accessorized with FOREVERMARK jewelry and a white TYLER ELLIS clutch.

Ava DuVernay tends to stick to the same silhouette like she did here but she still sparkled beautifully in her custom REEM ACRA gown. Her  custom champagne gold crystal and sequin embroidered long-sleeve tulle gown was accessorized with CHOPARD jewelry.

Ryan Michelle Bathe wore a ZAC POSEN PRE-FALL 2019 double face duchess sapphire gown, the draped off-the-shoulders. This color is gorgeous on her. MARTIN KATZ jewelry rounded out her look.

Sterling K Brown looked great wearing a burgundy & black BRIONI suit which he accessorized with dark sunglasses and DAVID YURMAN jewelry.

Billy Porter who made history with his big win, shined in a custom MICHAEL KORS COLLECTION jacket and trousers featuring over 130,000 hand-embroidered mini crystals. Her accessorized with a STEPHEN JONES hat which I love. My only problem is the un-hemmed pants but this look is works for me.

Taraji P. Henson stepped out in the color combo of the night, red & pink courtesy of VERA WANG. I like the idea of this gown because the cape gives it a little attitude but I wish the pink panel wasn't sheer. The mini skirt underneath doesn't work, nor does the embellished waist panel which sits too high. This is a miss for me but the colors looks great against her skin.

Christina Applegate also wore a custom gown by VERA WANG. The fit of the bodice and the color is where this gown went wrong on her. That fuchsia lip didn't do a think to save this hue on her.

Vera Farmiga also jumped on the bright hue train wearing a bold red long sleeve lace gown by RYAN ROCHE. I think this is a lovely feminine gown and the color is what draws you in. EVA FEHREN jewelry rounded out her look. 

Eliza Scanlen looked lovely wearing a lilac MIU MIU crepe & tulle panel tea length dress with dainty bows and flirty cutout sides.

Laverne Cox made a dramatic entrance wearing a MONSOORI two-tone one-shoulder, frilly tier gown. She looks beautiful here and I love the custom rainbow EDIE PARKER clutch.

Indya Moore went the sexy route, wearing a custom LOUIS VUITTON strapless double split dress. I can see this dress more on the Grammys carpet but you can't deny how beautiful she looks.

Sophie Turner who was a nominee naturally wore a custom LOUIS VUITTON dress as well. I usually like the LV pieces that she wears but I am not at all sold on the look of this.

Michelle Williams walked away a winner wearing a custom LOUIS VUITTON dress as well. I do like her strapless colorfull floral sequin dress.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge walked a a three time winner wearing a MONIQUE LHUILLIER FALL 2019 blush embroidered, v-neck tulle gown. The color is not the best on her which is why I wish she added a pink lip color. ATELIER SWAROVSKI jewelry rounded out her look.

Jameela Jamil wore a bold lip that complimented her MONIQUE LHUILLIER SPRING 2020 mint faille box pleated ball skirt and single sleeve draped bandeau top. 

Isla Fisher turned to ZUHAIR MURAD, wearing a RESORT 2020 silver off-the-shoulder, silk-metallic pleated gown. A colored lip was added to her beauty look which popped nicely against her gown. NORMAN SILVERMAN jewelry, a matching clutch and side swept tresses roundedo out her look.

Rhea Seehorn wore a ROMONA KEVEZA FALL 2019 sheer black tulle layered gown which she accessorized with emerald drop earrings. In the look book, the gown was shown with an embellished belt which I wish she kept. 

Chloe Bennet wore a black sheer & embellished panel, velvet gown from the GIORGIO ARMANI FALL 2019 collection which was belted at the waist. If this looks familiar that's because Vanessa Hudgens wore a full velvet version of the dress in July 2019. SWAROVSKI jewelry and a up-do rounded out her look.

Laura Linney wore a cutom masculine inspired ensemble by DEREK LAM. Her sequin long sleeve, asymmetrical top & black trosuers was accessorized with VAN CLEEF & ARPLES jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and MANOLO BLAHNIK. I like her look but the pants needed to be hemmed. 

Jodie Comer who was surprised that she won, wore a long sleeve white cutout TOM FORD halter dress with a tie waist and split detail. She looked simply great but I would swap out the black sandals for a gold & silver metallic pair. 

Greta Lee of the 'Russian Doll', wore a custom CHRISTOPHER JOHN ROGERS SPRING 2020 green silk-taffeta blouse and matching skirt. If this looks familiar, that's because Tracee Ellis Ross wore a fuchsia version last week. However I love the green as well.

Catherine O'Hare wore a black & white GRETA CONSTANTINE dress which she accessorized with a black clutch and GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI sandals. A red lip provided a touch of color to monochrome look.

Joey King who was a first time nominee, looked beautiful wearing a custom ZAC POSEN cranberry silk gazar gown which she accessorized with SWAROVSKI jewelry. 

Sandra Oh also wore a custom ZAC POSEN gown. Her bonded crepe peony gown featured a an off-the-shoulder and split neck detail. The gown is a classic ZP silhouette but I don't think the color suits her.

Nicole Scherzinger struck a pose in a VIVIENNE WESTWOOD straplss dress which she acceossized with LORRAINE SCHWARTZ jewelry and white JIMMY CHOO pumps. I feel like she should have gone with sandals over the pointy toe pumps but she looked great nonetheless.

Busy Philipps was on hand to support bff Michelle Williams, wearing the custom LELA ROSE 'Mirabelle' yellow Swiss dot point d'espirit tulle and features a delicate negligee neckline and flounce hem. Her dress is giving me a nightgown vibe but I still like it. IRENE NEUWIRTH jewelry, a JUDITH LEIBER clutch and STUART WEITZMAN sandals rounded out her look. 

Mandy Moore was definitely feeling herself in this custom BRANDON MAXWELL pink off-the-shoulder top and a red high waisted, split detail floor length skirt. Even though I don't like how the top sits on the bust, I still like this look.

Amy Poehler wore a GRETA CONSTANTINE SPRING 2020 gold sequin short-sleeved jumpsuit with plunging neckline and twisted bodice. This gold is not working on her at all and there are some fit issues with the pants. DAVID WEBB & DAVID YURMAN rounded out her look.

Faithe C. Herman was adorably cute wearing a MIA BAMBINA yellow one-shoulder gown. This yound starlet was easily one of the best dressed of the night.
