2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala

The 2019 LACMA Art+Film Gala took place on Saturday(November 2nd) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in LA. The event was in honor of Alfonso Cuaron and African-American artist Betye Saar and most of the guests were wearing GUCCI unless otherwise stated. To see the men's looks, click HERE.

Yara Shahidi was indeed beautiful in this yellow ruffle pleated dress. I don't think she needed the earrings but it doesn't hurt her look and her beauty look is flawless.

Kiki Layne has been on point since day one of her debut on the red carpet last year. Her beauty look was flawless and she definitely pulled off this all-over sequin embroidered gown which was accessorized with jewelry from the fashion house as well.

Regina King didn't disappoint either, she looked beautiful in a color-block sequin panel dress, which was topped off with a flawless beauty look.

Cynthia Erivo wore a purple embroidered gown which she accessorized with a purple clutch DAVID WEBB jewelry. I like the idea of the dress but the top half, including those sleeves, does not work for me.

Zoe Saldana was a beauty in this color-block, layered embroidered gown, which she accessorized with jewelry from the fashion house as well.

Brie Larson chose a velvet and layered tulle gown, with a bow waist. I am partially sold on the idea of this gown but the top is problematic.

Billie Eilish is the artist of the moment and if you follow her style, you know that she is a fan of the fashion house. She wore a custom wool and GG lamé oversize bowling shirt and jogger pants with floral sequin embroideries and crystal appliqués, Flashtrek sneakers and square frame acetate sunglasses

Ava DuVernay stayed in her style comfort zone. Her FALL 2019 silver pleated lame, peplum top was styled with the matching train detail skirt. This is a no for me, I am waiting for her to try something different.

Amandla Stenberg wore a FALL 2019 velvet dress with silk plissé bustier and cape, leather sandals and the Le Marchédes Merveilles ring with a feline head. She is also carrying a TYLER ELLIS clutch. Personally I can't say that I am loving the dress but it suits her.

Naomi Campbell sparkled beautifully in a ATELIER VERSACE red crystal mesh dress. Extra sparkles came courtesy of NEIL LANE.

Salma Hayek is wearing a custom SPRING 2020 crystal beaded halter dress. It's simple and pretty but forgettable. Also the fit of the top looks off.

Melina Matsoukas is known for wearing unique pieces and this JI MIN LEE SPRING 2020 look is right up her style alley. However the fit does not work for me and I really wish she chose a sleek, black stiletto or ankle strap sandals.

Laura Dern wore a black beaded embroidered cape dress which she accessorized with a gold bag and black loafers. I don't like this on her at all. It's just not her style and her hair should have been completely off-the-shoulders. Also the ALDO flats are just no.

Greta Gerwig wore a pink beaded, layered dress which was perfectly suited for her. NIKOS KOULIS jewelry, a pink clutch, CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN sandals and a red lip finished up her look.

Sienna Miller is starring in the fashion house Resort 2020 campaign and she is wearing a custom SPRING 2020 black all-over sequin embroidered gown, suede high heel sandals and jewelry.

Gia Coppola wore a black crepe and gold lame, pleated dress with contrasting fur shoulders. I can't say that I am loving the fur shoulders but I feel like without it, this dress would have been a snooze.

Molly Sims choose the ALEX PERRY FALL 2019 'Beckett' black sequin cape sleeve and crepe, boatneck gown, with a side split. While I like the dress on Molly, I feel like something is missing, like a colored lip.

Camila Morrone went the bridal route, wearing a CAROLINA HERRERA SPRING 2020 white satin front panel and black back panel gown. A XIV KARATS diamond necklace added a touch of sparkle to her look.

Carly Steel dipped into the fashion house archives for this SPRING 2016 sequin and tulle panel dress, which she accessorized with red earrings & pumps. My only issue here is the fit.

Rainey Qualley stood out thanks to the hue of her dress. She offset her vibrant red FALL 2019 cable-knit, v-neck mini dress with ivory platform spiked & bow sandals.

Suki Waterhouse wore a pink one-shoulder, draped ruffle panel dress, with a center front split from the RESORT 2020 collection. I have two issues here, the color and I think her hair should have been sleek, and off-the-shoulders.
