2021 LACMA: Art and Film Gala

On Saturday(November 6th) the 2021 LACMA Art+Film Gala which was presented by Gucci, took place at the LACMA in LA. Most of the guests were wearing GUCCI unless otherwise stated.

Elle Fanning was easily one of my top favorites in this sheer black, silk-chiffon gown. The flower detail on the neckline and the lip color is what added edge to her sexy look.

Jodie Turner-Smith wore a pink and silver crystal beaded dress with padded shoulders and cutout feather sleeves. I wish the shoulders pads and the corset underlining were the same color as the dress. Also the makeup is not good.

Lil Nas X is always going to make sure he stands out and I love it. This custom FALL 2021 yellow logo and feather cuff suit looked so good on him. I am on the fence about the shoes but the brown does offset the yellow.

Jared Leto is always going to serve us with a look and he is wearing a suit like Lil Nas X that is featured in the FALL 2021 collection. He is giving me 'Saturday Night Fever'' and I like. This suits him perfectly.

Miley Cyrus was one of favorites as well in this FALL 2021 white floral ensemble and matching bag. I mean, I really like this on her and I am glad that she ditched the skirt because she didn't need it

D-Nice rocked a hat of course with a velvet blazer and black trousers. The jewelry was a great addition because it kept this from being boring.

Jake Gyllenhaal looked like he was on his way to the ''country club.'' Love the colors but I dislike the look of those pants on him but his overall is not working.

Kodi Smit-McPhee wore a FALL 2021 dotted and feather cuff suit and I must say, he looked good in this. It is similar to the suit that Lil Nas X & Jared Leto is also wearing(see above).

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a MAISON RABIH KAYROUZ SPRING 2022 black pleated dress and this piece was so perfect for her. But I am not feeling those pointy toe pumps with it.

Jaime Xie wore a TOMO KOIZUMI SPRING 2021 two-piece ensemble with coordinating mules and I am loving this on her.

Suki Waterhouse wore a FALL 2021 nude lace & feather sleeve and silver embellished dress. I don't like how the nude lace bra is visible but I wish the topped was lined.

Camila Morrone looked beautiful wearing a ATELIER VERSACE FALL 2020 sheer crystal beaded, black gown which was lined for coverage.

Dove Cameron wore a FALL 2016 pink satin pleated dress with GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI platform Mary Jane's. I kinda wish that she kept the runway's shoes and ditched that shoulder bag. Overall, I really dislike this fabric.

Liberty Ross wore a cute shimmery, iridescent top with the matching wide-leg, crop pants from the RESORT 2018 collection.

Serena Williams wore a black lace beaded and velvet dress with a flower choker and feather opera gloves. I feel like the choker and the gloves are competing with each other. She didn't need both. But in general dress looks very ill-fitting.

Awkwafina wore a two-tone sequin embellished key hole and feather hem, floor length dress. Pink and red will forever be one of my favorite color combinations but the bodice is a bit over-designed like most of the brand's pieces.

Sienna Miller wore a cute futuristic turquoise one-shoulder, beaded sequin mini dress.

Dakota Johnson wore a beaded, belted crop top and pink satin, wide-leg pants. I really like the top but those pants are not giving what is supposed to be.

Salma Hayek wore an ombre gown which was accessorized with aa statement necklace and a coordinating magenta clutch. This is actually not that bad, the necklace wasn't a good choice but the dress is easily her best in a while.

Kirsten Dunst wore black and white layered lace gown with sheer ruffle sleeves. The head styling is flawless but that bodice & sleeves is not it.

Olivia Wilde returned to the carpet wearing a black sequin floor length dress with a red butterfly motif on the bodice. That butterfly is what makes this standout.

Phoebe Bridgers wore a floor length dress that featured a layered lace top and a plaid skirt. This may suit her but I don't like it.

Ariana DeBose wore a BIBHU MOHAPATRA SPRING 2022 black off-the-shoulder dress which was accessorized with VAN CLEEF ARPELS jewelry and JIMMY CHOO sandals. I am not loving the bodice but other than that, she looked pretty.

Celeste performed at the event wearing a shiny green sequin cutout and double split dress with a silver metallic bag & platform sandals.

Angelic Houston made a rare appearance wearing a green cape dress and without that tassel chocker detail, this would have been a snooze. It was a great look for her though.

Billie Eilish is starting to play around with fashion more, stepping outside of her style comfort zone. Granted this is not the best look but it's refreshing to see her wearing something other than baggy clothing. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I want to see her mix things up more.

Florence Welch wore an ice blue peplum, wide-leg jumpsuit and I am not sure how she walked in those un-hemmed pants. Also this would have worked if it didn't have so much fabric. That contrasting blue waist panel was not needed but I can't see this without a belt or waistband.

Sydney Sweeney wore a SAINT LAURENT black one long sleeve dress with a cutout side and a black clutch. Her dress is an inspired by a piece from the SPRING 2020 collection. She looked great but I feel like she needed a colored lip or some sparkly jewelry to take this to the next level.

Hailey Bieber also wore SAINT LAURENT and she didn't disappoint wearing this SPRING 2022 white floor length dress. She looked gorgeous and the red lip along with the gold cuffs enhanced this.

Eva Longoria wore a black sequin, one-shoulder backless gown by VIVIENNE WESTWOOD. Her gown was accessorized with XIV KARATS earrings and DAVID WEBB rings. I feel like an inch or two needed to be taken off at the hem but she looked pretty.

Rebecca Hall wore a MIU MIU sheer black and silver embellished dress. Although we have seen this detail or similar looks like this from the fashion house, she looked great.

Niecy Nash worked her frame beautifully in a fuchsia one-shoulder gown by CHIARA BONI LA PETITE ROBE. Love this color on her.

Ava DuVernay stayed in her style comfort zone, wearing a black dress by PRADA. This doesn't excite but it's not a bad look and her makeup is flawless.

Jeremy O. Harris nailed this retro inspired look, rocking head to toe pieces from the fashion house. There is a lot going on here but the pieces came together and worked. But those pants needed to be hemmed.

Anderson Paak went the retro route as well and I like the pieces that he is wearing with exception of those shoes. Also the pants needed to be hemmed but he still looked good.

Tracee Ellis Ross
wore a look that has a lot going on. A playful, sparkly piece that suits her personality and style. Whether you like it or not, it does work for her.

Diane Keaton always rocks suits and she does it very well. She looked great in this navy sequin suit and that smile says it all about how she feels about this look.

Leslie Mann wore a black backless VICTORIA BECKHAM SPRING 2022 turtleneck gown and this would have looked better with statement cuffs/bracelets.
